About Us

We're an all-volunteer organization established in 1961 offering free ESL (English as a Second Language) adult classes every week at various locations throughout San Diego County, California. Students and tutors meet in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.

Our primary mission is to promote literacy and English as a Second Language in San Diego County by:

■ recruiting adult students

■ training volunteer tutors and trainers
and

■ networking with other literacy providers.

We welcome adult volunteers and provide all the necessary training for those who want to assist in teaching at one of the existing tutoring center locations or help develop a new San Diego County location.
