TUTOR
NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Are you looking for a way to make a difference in
your community, and you can’t find a volunteer opportunity that works with your
schedule? Then volunteer to help someone learn English As A Second
Language. If you can speak English, you can make a difference in someone’s
life. Attend two free Saturday tutor
training sessions, and get matched with adult
learners who need your help. You can schedule tutoring times convenient for
your schedule, and close to where you live. The next 12 hour training will be
June 18 and June 25, 2011
from 10-4 each Saturday at the
Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center

The instructor will be
Carolyn McGavock, currently
an adult ESL instructor currently on the faculty of San Diego
Community College. Carolyn
has taught ESL to adults since 1991 in Washington , New York and California .
In addition to teaching ESL, she has taught Citizenship, Family Literacy and
Vocational ESL classes. She has previously led other highly
acclaimed Laubach basic and intermediate workshops, and was a
featured presenter at the 2008,2009 and 2010 READ/San Diego Conferences.
